Salary: £28,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role

At Hillingdon Manor School, we're looking for a compassionate, proactive and committed Pastoral Key Worker who is passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of young people. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in supporting students' wellbeing, helping them overcome challenges, and empowering them to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

Working closely with students, families, school staff and external agencies, you will build trusted relationships that foster confidence, resilience and success. Acting as a key link between home and school, you will provide targeted pastoral support, promote positive attendance and engagement, and deliver interventions that help students navigate emotional, social and behavioural challenges. Your work will ensure that every student feels safe, understood, valued and equipped to reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Building trusted relationships with students and their families.

• Supporting attendance, engagement and positive outcomes through targeted interventions.

• Providing emotional and practical support to students who may be experiencing social, emotional or behavioural challenges.

• Working collaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure students receive the support they need.

• Monitoring attendance, behaviour and wellbeing, identifying concerns and implementing effective support strategies.

• Conducting home visits where appropriate and maintaining regular communication with families.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with students, families or vulnerable individuals.

• Can build positive, trusting relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

• Understands safeguarding and is committed to promoting student wellbeing.

• Is resilient, empathetic and able to remain calm in challenging situations.

• Can work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external agencies.

• Has strong organisational skills and can maintain accurate records.

• Holds a full UK driving licence.

Experience within a SEND, pastoral, family support, youth work, social care or alternative provision setting would be advantageous. Most importantly, you'll be passionate about helping students overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.
