Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) invites applications for one (1) open-rank teaching faculty position in Instructional Arabic. The successful candidate will hold an M.A. or Ph.D. in applied linguistics, linguistics, language education, or a related field, with expertise in Arabic language, literature, or pedagogy. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching Arabic at all levels, including experience working with heritage language learners. They will also have a record of effective instruction in skill-based courses (e.g., Business Arabic, Academic Writing) and in leading co-curricular and experiential learning activities that support Arabic language development. Academic Environment and Faculty Support Teaching Faculty teach three courses (or 9 credit hours) per semester (a 3-3 load), supported by best-in-class instructional infrastructure. To advance faculty scholarship and professional development, GU-Q provides: Access to GU-Q faculty research funds. Eligibility for funding through the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation Council (QRDI). Eligibility to apply for a summer research supplement equivalent to 2/9 of base salary.
