About the Role
Are you a PE Teacher who believes sport and physical activity can transform young lives? Do you see the power of physical education to build confidence, resilience, teamwork and a lifelong love of achievement? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
At Groveside School, we're looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and inclusive PE Teacher to inspire our students to be active, engaged and proud of what they can achieve. As our school continues to grow, you'll have the exciting opportunity to shape and develop a dynamic PE curriculum alongside a thriving extracurricular programme that encourages every young person to take part, challenge themselves and succeed.
This is more than a teaching role. It's a chance to use sport as a vehicle for personal growth, helping students develop confidence, strengthen relationships and discover their potential both on and off the field. If you're passionate about making a lasting difference and creating positive experiences through physical education, we'd love you to join our team.
What you will be doing
• Plan and deliver high‑quality PE lessons and physical development activities that inspire participation and progress
• Build a vibrant extra‑curricular offer including clubs, wellbeing sessions, team games and enrichment opportunities
• Use assessment to monitor, record and report on student progress, celebrating success and supporting every learner
• Adapt PE and physical activity to ensure students with SEND and SEMH needs can participate safely and meaningfully
• Create safe, stimulating learning environments, organising equipment, spaces and groupings effectively
• Promote physical activity as a tool for confidence, regulation, teamwork and personal development
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, LSAs, care staff and families to ensure consistent support for students
• Contribute to curriculum development, school improvement priorities and the wider life of the school
What you will bring
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A passion for PE, inspiring participation, confidence and wellbeing
The ability to thrive in a fun, purposeful and sometimes challenging environment
Strong relationship-building skills, using restorative practice and teamwork to engage students
Resilience, approachability and the ability to remain calm under pressure
Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for motivating students
Creativity in teaching, with a focus on bringing out the best in every learner
A full driving license
