FAIRFIELD METHODIST SCHOOL (SECONDARY)

Singapore's Ministry of Education runs a centralised, high-performing national system. Key examinations include the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) and GCE O- and A-levels. International schools operate alongside the national system, offering IB, British, and American curricula. Singapore consistently leads global education rankings, particularly in mathematics and science.

International school teaching in Singapore typically offers packages of S$60,000–S$120,000 depending on experience, with housing allowances common for expatriate hires. National school teachers are civil servants with structured pay progression and comprehensive benefits. Total compensation packages in the international sector are among the most competitive in Asia.

Work authorisation for teachers in Singapore requires an Employment Pass (for those earning above S$5,000/month) or S Pass, processed efficiently by the Ministry of Manpower. International schools sponsor the visa application. Approval typically takes two to four weeks. Singapore's transparent process and stable regulatory environment make it one of the smoother international placements.
