Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for this position.ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT The Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) is an integral part of UNESCO and is a specialized Category-I institute that works on education for peace and sustainable development to foster global citizenship. MGIEP’s Programme Design and Evaluation Team works with all projects at the Institute in pursuit to enhance the quality and impact of UNESCO MGIEP’s initiatives by applying evidence-based approaches that will enable data-driven policy recommendations and support the delivery of sustainable, cost-effective programs.Long Description MAIN TASKS AND SERVICES Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO MGIEP and the direct supervision of the Senior Project Officer, the incumbent Associate Project Officer- Statistics will be responsible for Statistical analysis of research data and would undertake the following tasks: Create database structure to save and store the data for further analysis Develop sampling plans and calculate sample requirements based on the scope of the study Support development of appropriate research tools and instruments Write the relevant codes in statistical packages such as R and Python to automate the data analysis Carry out psychometric analysis using methods such as CTT, IRT, etc., of the study instruments Carry out the statistical data analysis of various projects in alignment with the research design Support data collection through primary and secondary methods. Provide programmatic coordination and support in the implementation of assessment studies. Write and present technical and analytical reports Contribute to other tasks related to programme design and evaluation Support any other institute-wide activities as and when they arise. Carry out any other task assigned by the supervisor. Long Description Long Description EXPECTED RESULTS Standardized protocols are developed and used in data analysis for all projects under analysis Statistical analysis and related activities are carried out in alignment with the research/project design in an efficient manner Project activities are effectively coordinated, with timely communication, updated planning tools, and regular follow-up. Project information and reports are well organized, accessible, and communicated effectively with relevant stakeholders Long Description DURATION OF THE CONTRACT The contract shall be for 1 year with a possibility of extension, subject to the availability of funds and satisfactory performance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Advanced University degree (equivalent to a Master’s) in statistics, applied statistics (population studies, biostatistics, education, etc.), or data science. WORK EXPERIENCE Up to 2 (two) years of professional experience related to statistical data analysis, psychometrics, sampling, and report writing in the field of education, or social sciences.
