Hiring open to : External candidates Application deadline (Midnight UTC+7 Time) : 10/06/2026 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism Only candidates who have the right to live and work in Thailand may apply for this position.BACKGROUND The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization Regional Office in Bangkok and Office for UN Coordination for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCO Bangkok), established in 1961 and evolving in roles over the years, oversees UNESCO's programs in education, sciences, ocean sciences, culture, and communication and information across seven countries: Afghanistan, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam. It coordinates national activities through offices in Kabul, Phnom Penh, Ha Noi, and Yangon (antenna office). As a key player in regional educational coordination and capacity development, UNESCO Bangkok leads the SDG4-Education 2030 Agenda covering 46 Member States and three Associate Members. Long Description MAIN TASKS AND SERVICES Under the overall authority of the Regional Director of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Regional Office in Bangkok and Office for UN Coordination for Asia and the Pacific, and the direct supervision from Regional Advisor of Social and Human Sciences Unit and Regional Advisor of UNESCO Institute for Statistics, the Service Contract holder will be responsible for providing program implementation support to the Sciences (SCS) Unit and Regional Office of UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) in a timely, accurate and pro-active manner in compliance with relevant HR, Administrative and Financial rules and regulations of the Organization, practices, procedures, guidelines, protocols. The volume and complexity of work requires a high attention to detail and accuracy. Typical work involves: - Monitor finance and budgetary aspects of programme activities in compliance with programme and budgetary requirements and financial regulations.- Provide support in procurement actions and contract management. - Undertake basic programme-related budget and expenditure data analysis; provide data for the preparation of reports on programme execution.- Collate information and draft regular and ad hoc budgetary/financial updates.- Provide support in preparation of outreach activities, special events, capacity-building/training workshops and HR-related activities. - Provide support in assessing needs for meetings/events/workshops/seminars, travel, document processing/publication production and consultants/temporary assistance, and coordinate office support services for the same. - Maintain/update/archive programme documentation and records, research, and track background information and documentation.- Provide and/or coordinate general office assistance (translation, printing, dispatch of information documents for statutory meetings, etc.) as required. Additional tasks may be assigned, provided they are consistent with the function as set out above.ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT a) The Service Contract holder is required to operate independently under overall guidance provided by her/his supervisor.
