EOTC Assistant
About the role
From the mountains to the coast, our annual camp week is one of the highlights of the Dio calendar - and it only happens because of careful planning, exceptional organisation, and a team that genuinely loves what they do. We are looking for a capable, energetic, and values-driven EOTC Assistant to join us on (primarily) on a school term time basis, working alongside our EOTC Coordinator to bring this much-loved programme to life. Ngā hāora mahi | Hours of work This is a school term time only position, with hours that flex around the EOTC programme's busiest periods: • Term 1 and lead-in: Full-time hours from the date in January when school reopens, through to the end of the Term 1 holiday break in April. These weeks cover preparation for EOTC Week, the repacking and review of equipment afterwards, and bookings, student charges and planning for the following year. • Terms 2 and 3: 25 hours per week during term time, with no hours required during the July, September school holiday breaks. • Term 4: Full-time hours through to the school closing in December, supporting administration and preparation for the next EOTC Week. Mō te tūranga | About the role (during the EOTC week) Reporting to the EOTC Coordinator, you'll be the engine room behind the smooth running of Dio's annual camp week and wider EOTC activities. Your days will be wonderfully varied — one moment coordinating bookings with external providers, transport, accommodation and catering, and the next preparing accommodation lists, activity groups, bus and tag lists in Synergetic (at present), or fielding queries from parents and staff. You'll provide administrative support for year-level assemblies and parent helper information evenings, organise gear requirements for each year level, manage parent communications through Trip Planner, and collate parent assistance responses with our Deans. Behind the scenes, you'll also play a key part in our health, safety and risk management processes — making sure documentation is accurate, equipment is checked and compliant, and police vetting for parent helpers is completed in partnership with our People and Culture team. It's a role for someone who thrives on logistics, loves a well-organised spreadsheet, and takes real satisfaction in seeing a complex programme come together seamlessly for our students.
