Stanstead College is currently seeking applications for a Director of Athletic Strategy & Operations to join our team beginning in November. The Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Stanstead College’s comprehensive athletics program, which includes elite sport pathways, competitive interscholastic teams, and recreational opportunities that promote student wellness, character development, and lifelong engagement in sport. The Director oversees the Director of Hockey Operations, Golf Coordinator, and Director of Athletics (Other Sports), ensuring a coordinated approach across all areas of the program and strong connections with academics and boarding life. The role will strengthen collaboration, establish clear direction and priorities across the department, and support a consistent approach to coaching, programming, and the student-athlete experience. KEY HIGHLIGHTS 300 students across Grades 7–12 80% boarding in 5 residences Students representing 20+ countries Strong academic program and competitive athletics A values-based culture focused on responsibility, respect, and integrity KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement a unified athletics vision aligned with Stanstead College’s mission, values, and strategic priorities, ensuring a consistent culture and student experience across elite, competitive, and recreational programs. Provide strategic oversight of the College’s major athletic programs, including hockey, golf, and competitive sports, through the Directors and Coordinators responsible for each area. Ensure athletics programs balance competitive excellence with academic success, student well-being, character development, and meaningful integration into boarding school life. Lead and develop senior athletics staff, coaches, and department personnel, fostering collaboration, accountability, professional growth, and consistent standards across programs. Partner with academic, residential, wellness, athletic training, and strength & conditioning teams to support a holistic student-athlete experience. Oversee policies and standards related to student-athlete eligibility, conduct, safety, welfare, sportsmanship, and compliance with school and athletic association requirements. Oversee departmental operations, including budgeting, resource allocation, facilities, scheduling, travel, risk management, and long-term planning. Ensure meaningful competitive, recreational, and intramural opportunities for students across all seasons and ability levels.
