About the Role

As our Behaviour & Relational Lead, you will play a key role in creating a calm, safe and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead on behaviour, relational practice and restrictive intervention reduction across the school, ensuring that students receive the right support while empowering staff with the training, guidance and confidence they need to succeed.

You will oversee the development and implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans, analyse behaviour data to identify trends and reduce incidents, and champion restorative and therapeutic approaches that strengthen relationships and improve outcomes. As the school's lead for CPI Safety Interventions and Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) standards, you will ensure best practice, compliance and continuous improvement across the school.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the development and review of Positive Behaviour Support Plans for students.

• Driving a whole-school approach to behaviour, relationships and risk reduction.

• Monitoring, analysing and reporting behaviour and intervention data to identify trends and reduce incidents.

• Leading on CPI Safety Interventions, restrictive intervention practice and RRN compliance across the school.

• Providing coaching, guidance and support to staff in de-escalation, restorative practice and behaviour management strategies.

• Coordinating and leading the Behaviour & Relational Team to ensure effective deployment of support and resources.

• Responding to and supporting complex behavioural incidents across the school.

• Quality assuring incident recording, reporting and follow-up actions, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.

• Delivering and facilitating staff training, supervision and professional development linked to behaviour, SEMH and relational practice.

• Working collaboratively with students, families, external professionals and colleagues to promote positive outcomes.

• Supporting the development of a therapeutic, trauma-informed culture that promotes safety, wellbeing and engagement for all.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced professional to influence whole-school practice, champion positive behaviour and relational approaches, and make a lasting difference to the lives of students and staff.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Safeguarding Level 2 training.

• CPI Safety Interventions training or equivalent experience.

• Experience working with a wide age range of students in educational, care or specialist settings.

• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice (TIP) or similar therapeutic approaches.

• A strong understanding of positive behaviour support, de-escalation and relational practice.

• The ability to remain calm, resilient and solution-focused in challenging situations.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and helping every student achieve their potential.
