Salary: Up to £43,000.00 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start: December 2026

About the Role

As our SENCo, you'll be at the heart of ensuring every student receives the support they need to thrive. Working closely with the Headteacher, therapy team, families, and external professionals, you'll lead and develop our SEND provision, creating an inclusive environment where students can achieve their full potential. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines strategic leadership with hands-on support, overseeing the day-to-day coordination of SEND provision, leading EHCP and Annual Review processes, and supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality, differentiated teaching. You'll build strong partnerships with parents, carers, local authorities, and external agencies to ensure students receive the right support at the right time, while monitoring progress, interventions, and whole-school practice to drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for every learner.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the school's SEND provision and ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and Equality Act 2010.

• Work alongside the Headteacher and therapy team to develop and implement the school's SEND strategy and improvement plans.

• Oversee provision for students with EHCPs, ensuring targets and outcomes are effectively supported.

• Chair Annual Reviews and coordinate all associated paperwork and reports.

• Provide guidance, support, and training to colleagues to promote excellent inclusive practice across the school.

• Build strong relationships with parents, carers, local authorities, and external professionals.

• Monitor student progress, assessments, and interventions, using data to evaluate impact and inform future planning.

About You

You'll be passionate about making a difference to the lives of students with additional needs and committed to helping every learner achieve their potential. You will be a collaborative, approachable professional who can build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and external agencies alike.

We're looking for someone who combines strong SEND knowledge with excellent communication and organisational skills. You'll be confident leading others, promoting inclusive practice, and finding creative solutions that support students to overcome barriers to learning.

What You'll Bring

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• SENCo qualification (or commitment to hold an approved SENCo qualification).

• A strong understanding of SEND legislation, the SEND Code of Practice, and inclusive educational practice.

• Experience working with students with SEND, including those with complex needs, SEMH needs, or behaviours that may challenge.

• Experience coordinating EHCP provision and leading multi-agency meetings and reviews.

• A Full UK Driving Licence
