About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced SENCo to join our caring and dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a central role in ensuring every student receives the understanding, support, and individualised provision they need to thrive both academically and personally.
Working closely with the Headteacher, therapy team, teaching staff, families, and external professionals, you will champion a truly inclusive approach, helping to create an environment where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to achieve their potential.
As our SENCo, you will:
• Lead and develop the school's SEND provision, ensuring that students' needs remain at the heart of decision-making.
• Support colleagues in delivering high-quality, inclusive teaching that enables every student to access learning successfully.
• Work alongside school leaders and governors to ensure the school meets its statutory responsibilities and promotes equality of opportunity for all students.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to coordinate effective support and smooth transitions.
• Monitor the impact of SEND provision and use outcomes to continually enhance student support and educational experiences.
• Oversee assessments and targeted interventions, helping students make meaningful progress across literacy, numeracy, and the wider curriculum.
• Promote a calm, nurturing, and purposeful learning environment where students can develop confidence, resilience, and independence.
• Identify training needs and support staff in developing their knowledge and understanding of SEND.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to the school's SEN Information Report, ensuring provision remains responsive and effective.
Also, this role will include a teaching commitment depending on the needs of the school.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking an empathetic and dedicated professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for students with additional needs and committed to fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging.
You will have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A strong understanding of a wide range of Special Educational Needs and the challenges students may face.
• Experience supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, including those who may present with challenging behaviours.
• The ability to lead, motivate, and support colleagues to deliver outstanding outcomes for students.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a genuine ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and external partners.
This is far more than a leadership position. It is an opportunity to be a trusted advocate for students, support families, nurture staff development, and help shape a school community where every student feels understood, supported, and able to flourish.
