Salary: £46,000 per annum (not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role

Are you an experienced and passionate SEND professional ready to make a lasting impact? We're looking for an inspiring SENCO to lead our SEND provision and champion inclusive practice across the school.

This is more than a compliance-focused role. It's an opportunity to shape strategy, influence whole-school development, and ensure every student receives the support, opportunities and encouragement they need to thrive.

Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams, clinicians, families and external professionals, you'll play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where students with additional needs can flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

As our school continues to grow and develop, you'll have the opportunity to help shape provision, drive meaningful change and make a genuine difference to the lives of students and their families.

What you will be doing

• Leading and developing SEND provision across the school, ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed.

• Managing EHCPs, annual reviews and statutory processes, maintaining high standards of compliance.

• Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, clinicians and external agencies to deliver effective support.

• Acting as the key contact for families, local authorities and professional partners.

• Using data and student progress information to inform interventions and improve outcomes.

• Coaching, supporting and developing staff to strengthen inclusive classroom practice.

• Leading on PEPs and fulfilling Designated Teacher responsibilities for Looked After Children.

• Contributing to whole-school improvement initiatives and promoting a culture of inclusion and high expectations.

What you will bring

• QTS or QTLS qualification.

• National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to achieve this within three years).

• Previous experience supporting students with SEND, including EHCP processes and provision planning.

• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements.

• Confidence working collaboratively with families, local authorities and multi-agency professionals.

• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.

• Thrive Practitioner qualification or willingness to undertake training.

• Full UK driving licence.
